This week we’re globetrotting as we check out three totally unique and spirits from around the world. First on the list is Corazón de Agave Tequila Blanco from Mexico, next we have Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey from the world’s oldest distillery, and pulling up the rear this week is Voli Raspberry Cocoa Fusion Vodka straight from France. Corazón de Agave Tequila Blanco
Corazon de Agave Tequila Blanco is produced smack dab in the middle of the blue-agave-growing countryside of Mexico, better know by locals as “The Highlands” of Jalisco. The family that creates this unique Tequila has been growing blue agave more than three generations. Corazon Blanco is made by the traditional method. Using 100% blue agave, it is then distilled not once, but twice in pot stills. Corazon de Agave Tequila Blanco is estate grown, distilled, and hand bottled.

Overall: We give Corazón de Agave Tequila Blanco an A- (Highly Recommended). It’s a soft and smooth tequila that is amazing for mixing! You simply don’t find many tequilas that are still handcrafted like Corazón. They take the time to make sure that everything is perfect before hand pouring each bottle. They trust humans, not machines, and you can taste the benefits!
MIX IT UP WITH: “Blue Motorcycle”
Ingredients: 1.5 oz Tequila Corazón Blanco, fill with sweet and sour mix, 1.5 oz rum, 1 splash 7-Up soda, 1.5 oz vodka, 1.5 oz gin, 1.5 oz Blue Curacao liqueur.
Directions: Build over ice in a collins glass. Fill with sour mix and add a splash of 7-Up.
Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey
Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey is comprised of three key ingredients: pure clean water, with which Ireland is fortunately blessed; cereals of grain and barley; and most importantly experience, which Kelbeggan has 100s of years to fall back on!

Overall: We give Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey a B+ (Highly Recommended). It’s crisp, and refreshingly different! Some might knock this whiskey as being a Jameson impersonator, but we didn’t get that impression at all. It’s a light whiskey that is easy on the pallet and can also mix a strong drink when called upon. Add a nip to your morning coffee and you’ll find out what we mean!
MIX IT UP WITH: “Hot Kilbeggen Toddy”
Ingredients: 1 measure of Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey, 1 slice of fresh lemon, 3-4 cloves, Sugar (as much or as little as you like), Hot water.
Directions: This drink is great for winter! Pour the whiskey into a goblet glass. Stud the fresh lemon with the cloves and place into the whiskey. Fill with hot water and dissolve in the sugar.
Voli Raspberry Cocoa Vodka
Voli Raspberry Cocoa Fusion is produced from 100% superior French wheat, which means that it is farmed according to the highest EU standards using certified natural spring water from Protea (Cognac region) and FDA-certified natural flavors and mineral salts. What this means is that Voli is truly on the up-and-up!
Before the end product is finally bottled, Voli Raspberry Cocoa Fusion is distilled 5 times and then filtered an incredible 4 times in order to create extraordinarily clean and smooth tasting flavored vodkas with between 25-40% fewer calories on average than leading brands.

Overall: We give Voli Raspberry Cocoa Fusion a B+ (Highly Recommended) Absolutley perfect for your next jumbo, iced up, fruity, summertime mixed drink! This stuff is wildly fruity, and tastes good enough to drink straight up as a shooter. It’s not totally free of the dreaded vodka “burn” but it’s pretty darn smooth! Though at only 60 proof don’t expect this vodka to knock you off your feet. Be more generous when pouring than you normally would.
MIX IT UP WITH: “The Flirt”
Ingredients: 2 oz Voli Raspberry Cocoa Fusion, 5 fresh raspberries, 1 lemon wedge, 1 lime wedge
½ oz simple syrup of ½ packet of sweetener, Prosecco
Directions: Muddle fresh raspberries in a martini glass, add the the lemon, the lime and simple syrup. Add other ingredients and ice. Shake and strain, then top it all off with Prosecco.
